another beautiful moment following the toasts…  i love the kiss and the little handmade tibetan peace flags hanging from the ceiling that lisa and tom recruited all their friends to help them make just two nights before the wedding…  she said they took over the great room at the teton club and had everyone tearing pieces of fabric and stringing them to fishing line.  apparently it was a big jumbled mess but it turned out great!

so i clearly have been working on lisa + tom’s august 4th wedding this week…  here is another of my favorites from their ceremony at our lady of the mountains catholic church in downtown jackson hole.  i love capturing quiet moments.  they can be so telling.

the first look.

whether or not you choose to see each other before your ceremony, the first look is a memorable moment.  many couples are adamant about not seeing each other dressed up before the bride starts walking down the aisle.  other couples feel equally as strongly about seeing each other in private before they stand together to make their vows in front of their friends and families.  planning to have a “first look” is a wonderful chance to steal away a few intimate moments together (and get some really emotional photographs!) before the festivities of the day get underway if you are open to seeing each other beforehand.    i love this picture of tom waiting for lisa to walk up and tap him on the shoulder…

june 23rd, 2012. katie and joe had an intimate low-key gathering at the iron mill ranch in jackson, wyoming for their nuptials.  they pulled together a really charming celebration pretty last minute (at least last minute in the wedding world… i think they only called me a week or two before their wedding date to see if i could squeeze them in!)  luckily it all worked out, and we were able to get some really great stuff even though we only had four short hours together…
